Here are some answers to common questions from guests of a Girls Night In events:

I’ve been asked for a donation? How much should I give?
If your host did not specify or recommend an amount, we suggest making a donation similar to what you would spend on a typical night out on things such as dinner, parking, taxis, movie, theatre or concert tickets. Please note that tax receipts, in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines, will only be issued for donations of $20 or more, unless otherwise requested.

How/where do I make my donation to the Girls Night In event?
Your host will provide you with a Donation Form and an envelope to keep your donation confidential. Your donation can be in the form of a cheque, credit card or cash (Please do not mail cash). Please give the form to your host, along with the donation, sometime during your Girls Night In.

Is there a minimum donation amount to attend a Girls Night In event?
Your host might specify a minimum donation or “entry fee” sometimes tied to a special event theme, but Girls Night In does not set a minimum or required donation to attend an event. Please note, however, that tax receipts will only be issued for donations of $20 or more, unless otherwise requested.

I’m a little concerned about privacy. How will my information be kept confidential?
The Canadian Cancer Society respects your privacy. The Society does not lend, sell or share information collected from donors.

The information collected on the Donation Form is used to issue a tax receipt to you. Note: Tax receipts are issued in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines for donations of $20 or more, unless otherwise requested.

Are there other ways of donating besides at the Girls Night In event?
To ensure that your donation is attributed to the total amount raised by the Girls Night In event you attend we encourage you to give your donation to your host at the event with the Donation Form and envelope that your host will provide.

I’ve been invited to a Girls Night In event but can’t attend. Can I still support the program?
Yes. Girls Night In in support of the Canadian Cancer Society greatly appreciates all contributions to our important research efforts into women’s cancers^*.
